Our Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) is a written program that provides for and supports the procedures, equipment, personal protective equipment, and work practices for protecting laboratory personnel from potential health hazards of using hazardous chemicals in the laboratory.
The CHP covers the following:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Standard operating procedures
- Hazard recognition
- Control methods for chemical hazards
- Incident and emergency response
- Training

The CHP is designed to comply with the regulations of California’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories, Title 8-California Code of Regulations, Section 5191
