This five-year program equips you with a Bachelor of Arts in Management Engineering from Pitzer and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from another university. You’ll spend your first three years at the Department of Natural Sciences. Then, you’ll transfer to an engineering school and receive your BA and BS after two more years of study.

Program Overview

Pitzer’s Management Engineering major includes mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics, social sciences, and other coursework. As a result, you’ll gain expertise in both the natural and social sciences.

You’ll be able to build equations by hand (and using computer software) to understand new physical systems and communicate your understanding clearly both verbally and through writing. You’ll also become comfortable using lab equipment, know how to identify and solve issues in your experiments, and become a proficient at analyzing data.

The career paths for engineering students are numerous: mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace, electrical engineering, technical writing, consulting, and careers in the civil, agricultural, and environmental fields.

Management Engineering is a major offered by Pitzer College. Scripps students can major in our 3-2 Engineering program.
